This unique piece was a custom commission for a repeat customer of mine, finished just before Christmas.
It has sat in my gallery ever since awaiting the go ahead for delivery, but sadly my customers situation has changed, and regretfully can no longer take delivery.
I have agreed to sell it on their behalf, so as much as I have loved having it as the centre piece of my gallery for the last 6 months, it is time for it to find a forever home.
The brief for this piece was a statement desk, that can be dismantled to fit into a tightly accessed room. From that brief I designed this modern take on the classic trestle table.
Handmade from stunning marri grown and milled in the south west of WA, the classic gum vein feature has been filled with jet black epoxy, further highlighting the character. Sweeping tapered legs have twin jarrah splines to both strength and a subtle feature.
It has been designed as a desk, however could be used a dining table, the foot space on the heads however is slightly limited for this use.
The commission cost for this piece was $6450, although the original customer is open to reasonable offers.
